For this full-floor residence in a landmark building in Chicago’s Gold Coast, Abrams Valenti was brought in to furnish a space that marked a meaningful new beginning for the homeowners,  a couple coming together under one roof for the first time. The apartment, with its classic herringbone floors, original triple-hung windows, and sweeping views of the lake and park, served as a showstopping backdrop. Building on the recently reinterpreted architecture, the team focused on layering in furnishings that honored the existing envelope while blending two points of view into a unified, gracious whole.

The homeowners brought no prior furniture, choosing instead to shape a shared aesthetic from scratch. A refined palette and sculptural forms bring warmth and ease to the rooms, softening the structure without distracting from the views. Light and openness meets quiet sophistication — most evident in the curated art moments throughout, with each meaningful work placed with consideration and care.

Every selection in the home was made to feel purposeful, from the tailored silhouettes to the quiet materials that let the art and architecture shine. It’s a home shaped by intention and shared perspective — rooted in the present, with space to evolve together.
